Location. THE US GRANT hotel stands amid the vibrant atmosphere of downtown San Diego, Calif. This property faces the Horton Plaza retail and entertainment complex and is located two blocks from the Gaslamp Quarter. Hotel Features. Constructed in 1910, this luxury hotel completed a $56 million renovation in 2006. The lobby features gray veined white Italian Carrara marble floors, Deniece Duscheone hand milled carpets, hand carved ceilings and polished mahogany woodwork. Columns are gilded with 24 karat white gold. Specially commissioned American Indian artwork is exhibited throughout the hotel. The Grant Grill serves California Native Regional cuisine, and houses a full bar. The restaurant hosts live piano or jazz entertainment on scheduled days. A total of 30,000 square feet of architecturally distinct function space accommodates events. The Spa Velia Experience at THE US GRANT offers in room massage services via personal Spa Sensiere who assist in the selection of one of Spa Velias' three custom blended aromatherapy oils.
